Sunset
On OpenAI's deprecations page, sunset and shut down mean the same thing: the model or endpoint is no longer accessible. Anthropic, Gemini, Vertex, and Azure say retirement or shutdown, and Amazon Bedrock says end of life.

The rows below are copied from this site's model records. A shutdown cell is the date stored for that provider, not a date copied from another host.

The deprecations page says sunset and shut down are interchangeable. Both mean the model or endpoint is no longer accessible. Deprecation is earlier: the announcement, while the model is still up, with a shut down date already set.

Other providers in this dataset
Anthropic's table says Retired, and requests fail. The Gemini page says shut down: the model is turned off and the endpoint is gone. Vertex and Azure publish a retirement date. Bedrock publishes an EOL date, and requests fail after it.
A page that says sunset without naming the host is not enough. Read the calendar for the API you call.
