Google Gemini API shut down 3 models on August 17, 2026: imagen-4.0-fast-generate-001, imagen-4.0-generate-001, and imagen-4.0-ultra-generate-001. The official replacement is gemini-nano-banana-2.1. Requests to these models started failing on that date.
